Formula 1 Updates

FIA Tightens Rules on ‘Flexi-Wings’ for 2025

The FIA is stepping up its enforcement of flexible front and rear wing regulations ahead of the 2025 season. New load tests will be introduced in phases, with rear wing testing starting at the Australian Grand Prix (March 16) and front wing tests added at the Spanish Grand Prix (June 1).

These stricter measures come after concerns over aerodynamic flexibility, with teams looking for loopholes to gain an advantage. The gradual rollout allows teams to adjust without major redesigns, but expect technical disputes throughout the season.

Piero Ferrari Backs Hamilton, Dismisses Age Concerns

As Lewis Hamilton prepares for his first season with Ferrari, some have questioned whether his age (40) could be a factor in performance. Piero Ferrari, son of Enzo Ferrari, dismissed the concerns, saying Hamilton is in top physical and mental condition and fully motivated for the challenge.

Hamilton recently visited Ferrari’s Maranello factory, where he received a warm welcome from both fans and his new team. The seven-time world champion will debut Ferrari’s SF-25 in pre-season testing next month as he looks to chase an eighth world title.

Could Max Verstappen Leave F1 for Endurance Racing?

Rumors are swirling about Max Verstappen’s long-term future in F1, especially with Ford’s return to the World Endurance Championship (WEC) in 2027. Ford will be Red Bull’s power unit supplier from 2026, and their expansion into Le Mans-style racing could provide Verstappen with an opportunity to fulfill his interest in endurance racing.

The Dutchman has previously expressed admiration for WEC but admitted that balancing F1 and endurance racing is difficult with the sport’s intense schedule. With Lewis Hamilton potentially racing in Ferrari’s WEC program, could we see the two rivals competing against each other in another motorsport discipline?
